Looking for something different to do on Valentine’s day this year on Tuesday, February 14?
Uitkyk Wine Estate in Stellenbosch is bringing back old school romance with their annual Valentine’s Classic Outdoor Movie Night.
You can bring your own picnic basket with snacks and (non-alcoholic) beverages, or pre-order a ready-made Uitkyk basket for a hassle-free eve of cosy cuddling. Blankets and pillows will be supplied so you and your loved one can kick back and enjoy an evergreen classic, Dirty Dancing.
The movie put Patrick Swayze on the map, and he stars alongside the likes of Jennifer Grey, Jerry Orbach and Cynthia Rhodes. Here Frances “Baby” Houseman falls in love with the camp’s dance instructor – gorgeous Johnny Castle.

A great selection of the estate’s wines will also be available for purchase. Since being appointed winemaker of Uitkyk in October 2000, Estelle Lourens says she has gained tremendously in her understanding of what is needed to make great wines at Uitkyk.
Gates will open at 6pm, and the movie is scheduled to start between 7pm and 8pm.
