And this winter sees eight of its premium dining destinations, under the watchful eye of Chef Amber-May Deetlefs, offering a variety of winter dishes plus two and three course menus until 31 August, 2019 – to ensure you celebrate the chill with a choice of sensational taste experiences.

Blanko Constantia Cape Town
Blanko’s warm ambiance with its restaurant, bar and lounge at The Alphen Boutique Hotel is set in lush wine territory. It brings people together in a gallery style restaurant perfect for that special wine-paired family gathering or intimate occasion in one of its four private dining rooms. Winter Special selection dishes include Sirloin (R145), Prawns (R165) and chef’s Osso Buco Ragu (R145). The Winter Set Menu is R190 pp for two-courses and R240 pp for three courses and is a roll call of tasty choices from butternut gnocchi to saffron cream mussels for starters, Whitefish, Chicken Scarpariello and Parmigiana for main and cheesecake and chocolate Gateaux finishers.
Bilboa restaurant – contemporary chic
Bilboa’s premium address with vistas of sand and sea delights patrons with a sophisticated Mediterranean seafood-inspired menu. Diners are offered a contemporary space with an elevated level of sophistication to enjoy delectable winter dishes. Winter Specials see patrons enjoying Aged Rib Eye steak (R165), or Prawns with Spiced rice (155) or Chicken Courgette Koftas (R145). The Winter Set Menu offers the options of a two-course for R200 pp or three-course for R240 pp and includes Za’atar spring rolls, roasted red pepper hummus and lentil soup with Ras El Hanout for starters. Mains offer beef skewers, spiced fried chicken, finished off with either semolina cake or lemon and orange blossom posset. Specials are offered on the wine list for the perfect pairings.
Paranga Cape Town
Paranga’s luxurious interior set on Camps Bay’s platinum mile is matched by its culinary benchmark dishes. Winter Specials include Venison Fillet in a red wine jus (R175), Grilled Prawns with citrus rice (R200) and Grilled Rump (R165). The Winter Set Menu caters for two courses at R240 pp and three courses at R290 pp. Select from Venison Carpaccio or Seafood Chowder with a vegetarian option on offer as well. Mains offer pan roasted Hake, Grilled Sirloin or spring pea Risotto, complemented by either passion fruit tart or a caramel chocolate ice cream temptation. A special winter wine list offers wine specials to enhance the flavours.
Sizzling city life.
The chefs at Firefish’s sophisticated harbour-side eatery use state of the art grills at ultra-high temperatures that enhance the most delicate of flavours. Arriving at your table piping hot, revel in steamed black Mussels in wine and cream (R110), Crispy prawns (R120) and Battered Fish (R85) or six of the freshest Oysters at R99. Alternative options include burgers (R70 -R95) and an 8-piece Sushi plate for R125 or a 16-piece Sushi plate for R255. Pair your meal with Firefish wine specials to complement every choice.
Zenzero spices up Cape Town’s sunset strip with Italian fare and flair to wrap you up in warmth and remind you why it’s good to be in the Mother City any time of the year. Paying homage to Italy, this seaside address captures all the flavours of the heart including Winter Specials: Gnocchi (R135), Osso Buco (R145) and Prawn Linguini (R165). On the Winter Set Menu, order two courses for R220 pp and three courses for R260 pp and select from Lamb Arancini, Fritto Misto or Ribollita soup for starters; Calamari, Sirloin Tagliata or Risotto for mains and finish off with Tiramisu or Cheesecake with Amaretti crumble. Pair with Wine specials from estates like Kleine Zalze and RAKA or other selections.
Bobo’s Brasserie Cape Town
Bobo’s Brasserie is all about French bistro classics matched by plush interiors filled with whimsical touches. Soak up all the old-world comforts with stylish contemporary dishes including Chef Amber May’s delectable White Fish Provençal (R110). Winter Specials include Grilled Prawns (R165), Lamb Navarin (R160), Bistro Steak (R150), Sous vide Chicken breast Risotto (R150) and specially for vegetarians, Stuffed Mushroom with Shallots, Goats’ Cheese and Parmesan (R145).

Lily’s all-day eatery in Mouille Point serves up inventive contemporary comfort food sure to become your new ‘happy place’ this winter for coffee, breakfast, lunch and relaxed easy dinners. Expect an eclectic menu offering a few quirky surprises. Winter Specials tempt with Beef Fillet with creamy Cognac pepper sauce and Truffle fries (R185), Braised Oxtail Casserole (R145), Sole Meunière (R175) and Braised Chicken breast (R145). Beautiful wine selections are also on offer, by the glass and bottle.
The Bungalow Cape Town
The Bungalow’s extraordinary setting invites you to get up close to Cape Town’s signature sunset over the sea with a splash of golden bubbly before tucking into a selection of winter specials. Choose from Lamb Curry (R180) and Red Wine Oxtail (R175) to Confit of Duck Leg (R150). On the Winter Set Menu, select two courses for R220 and three courses for R260 and choose from Mussels Provencal, Chicken Liver Peri-Peri and Grilled Haloumi for Starters to Chargrilled Sirloin, Pan-roasted Gnocchi and Beef Cheek Ragu for Mains with either a Vanilla Crème brûlée with Hazelnut Biscotti or a satisfying Malva Pudding as the perfect final note.
