Hailing from Paraguay, South America, the charismatic Ernesto Latino is a multi-skilled, master of diverse Latin styles.
With his rich, honey-toned voice and spectacular guitar skills, Ernesto takes audiences on a musical journey across the globe — from Peru, Argentina and Brazil to Spain, Italy, Puerto Rico, Columbia, Venezuela, Chile, Mexico and even to Greece with his beautiful collection of Mediterranean and Latin-American music. He’ll be accompanied by John Hassan on percussion.

Much-loved classics
Singing in Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and English, Ernesto performs beloved classics and crowd-pleasing favourites made famous by legends such as Julio Iglesias, The Gipsy Kings, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Bublé, Enrique Iglesias, Dean Martin, Helmut Lotti, Patrizio Buanne and Carlos Santana.
Audiences can expect romantic favourites like Amor Amor, That’s Amore and Il Mondo, alongside vibrant, foot-tapping hits including Despacito, Volare, Bailando, Bamboleo, Lambada and La Bamba — guaranteed to get you dancing, no matter which part of the world you are from.
From Italian/Brazilian heritage, Ernesto was born in Paraguay and brought up in a family with strong musical ties. He started playing guitar at the age of 6 and studied music under Professor Kuki Rey from the age of 9 until he matriculated. After finishing his tertiary education, he based himself in Argentina to further his studies and work, teaming up with the group Los Paraguas, with whom he performed for a number of years. The group played in Venezuela, Columbia, Peru, as well as in Central America. They also won the prestigious South American Festival of Music and Dance held in San Carlos, Argentina.
In 1989 he joined the famous group ‘Los Gomes’, based in Paraguay, from where they performed across South America. The group appeared in well-known TV music shows such as: • Bolilha (Brazilian TV) • La Siesta (Paraguayan TV) • Inolvidable (Paraguayan TV) In 1990 Ernesto was invited to join the famous group Los Indios, who at the time also performed at Sun City, South Africa. He, together with Los Indios, moved to Osaka in Japan, where they performed in concerts across Japan for about 1 year. Ernesto took a decision to go solo, staying on in Tokyo, performing at various locations in the Far East.
He moved to Cape Town, where he has been living since 1999, performing solo or with his group, The Latin Kings. He recorded and produced 4 CD’s: New Beginnings in 2000, Serendipity in 2001, Carnaval in 2005, and Corazon Latino, recorded in South America in June 2009. Ernesto returned to South Africa last year, after a 4-year sabbatical in South America.
