Music Exchange (MEX17), celebrates its 7th anniversary on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 September, 2017, and will be hosted at the state of the art Academy Of Sound Engineering studio complex in District 6. The focus will be on master classes, hosted by some of the world’s leading music producers, composers and record company execs.

Add 4 international songwriters to the mix and this 120 delegates-only conference, will offer rare insight into their processes, success stories and lessons learned.

From the renowned Abbey Road Studios in London, to the most extraordinary recording spaces across North America and Europe, each speaker has influenced some of the world’s biggest moments in modern recording history.

Writers from New York, Columbia and the UK will share the podium with a top radio executive from Holland as well as BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc., the world’s largest collecting and rights management company).

MEX17 is all about journeys – the eclectic road travelled by some of the entertainment industry’s most respected names working in the business today.

Meet some of the speakers

JANN KLOSE from New York, is a Grammy nominated pop singer-songwriter who has released five albums and two EPs. His music has been streamed over 1,000,000 times online and his song Make It Better is featured on the Billboard Top 10 charting compilation album Action Moves People United. His new single Don’t Give Up (Peter Gabriel) featuring vocal legend and painter Annie Haslam of the classical rock group Renaissance, is now available worldwide. Currently Jann is working on a new solo album in South Africa www.jannklose.com

CHRISTIAN WRIGHT from Abbey Road Studios, has worked on albums by some of the biggest names in pop and rock – Ed Sheeran, Keane, Franz Ferdinand, Blur and Gabrielle Aplin. He’s also in demand as an engineer for film soundtracks and worked on box office-topping films like Gravity, Prince Of Persia, two Harry Potter films and The Master – composed by Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood.

ALICIA MADISON, based in New York, is a successful singer/songwriter for Armada Records and Lifted Sony. She’s worked with Laidback Luke and Will Sparks, while her own compositions continue to elicit positive feedback from top DJs and producers the calibre of Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Thomas Gold, Hardwell, Felix Cartel, Paul Oakenfold, Tritonal, Aly & Fila, Markus Schulz, Steve and Aoki. She also writes for upcoming pop and EDM artists from around the world.

MARCELA ARCINIEGAS from Columbia. A music producer and songwriter working in different projects between Colombia and the UK. She has a varied portfolio, being a pop lover she started writing songs in her teens and later learned how to produce. In 2011 she met JD Chamo in Colombia and started making Reggaeton and signed him to her label Cuckoo Records. She co-produced JD Chamo’s single Suave featuring Kevin Roldan, and his latest single Se Mueve Asi with Pipe Florez. Her latest project is Marcela A  (with her being a DJ/Producer ) the debut single Do It reached the top 30 Music Week club charts in the UK. Ahora had great success in Ibiza and UK clubs. Dance feat Laila Subratti  is her latest single – it charted at no. 19 in the Music Week Commercial Pop club charts.
