Tintswalo Boulders presents another of its popular culinary weekends, this time with an Italian theme presented by resident Head Chef Dustin Hammond. Taking place on the long weekend of 16 June, 2023, the food, wine and culinary experience kicks off on Friday afternoon with welcome drinks and canapés, followed by a 4-course Italian-style dinner and wine pairing with Vergelegen Wine Estate.
On Saturday morning guests will wake up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee and pastries baking in the oven. Breakfast will be served on the terrace with uninterrupted views of Boulders Beach and the famous African Penguin Colony, before Chef Dustin presents his Breadmaking workshop, followed by a light lunch.
Italian Pasta Masterclass
The afternoon will be free for relaxation – book a spa treatment or a water activity, explore the treasures of Simon’s Town, or watch the antics of penguins on the beaches along the boardwalk.
Late afternoon guests will come together for an Italian Pasta Masterclass with Chef Dustin, followed by an Italian Family-Style dinner. The chef will make full use of the open kitchens at Tintswalo Boulders to interact with guests while he prepares the meals.
After training at the 1000 Hills Chef School in KwaZulu-Natal, Chef Dustin first worked at Hartford House and Nambithi Hills in Durban. In 2017 he joined Tintswalo Atlantic as Pastry Chef, before moving up the ranks to Sous Chef, and then over to Tintswalo Boulders as Head Chef.
Weekend rates
On the Sunday morning a lazy Vergelegen Bubbly Brunch will be served, with a late check out at 3pm to allow for some more optional spa treatments, or simply some relaxation time for guests to enjoy the luxury and comfort of their beautiful suites before the start of another busy week.
Weekend rates start from R13 135 for 2 people, which includes luxury accommodation for 2 nights (Friday, 16 and Saturday, 17 June), as well as all meals and selected beverages served during the culinary experiences. Exclusions – beverages outside of culinary experiences, spa treatments and off-site activities, gratuity and any other items of a personal nature. Note spa treatments to be booked in advance.
