It’s starting to look a lot like Christmas at the V&A Waterfront, and there are some great highlights this year. The festive fun and Christmas cheer includes Future Park (interactive exhibition where you watch your drawings come to life with digital technology), Magic of Christmas Show (Merry Clause and the Elves), and New Year’s Eve (watch the best NYE fireworks display in Cape Town).

Visits from Santa, magical Christmas shows, leisurely experiences around the property, gift-wrapping stations and extended shopping hours for convenience should leave visitors in a festive mood. Trading hours at the V&A Waterfront will be extended from Thursday, 14 December until Saturday, 30 December.

Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre will open from 9am to 10pm during this time, and trade on Christmas Day is optional. Visitors who prefer a tranquil shopping experience should visit Victoria Wharf before 10am or after 7pm to avoid the festive rush.

The Waterfront’s home of craft and design, the Watershed, will have some extra-special festive cheer this year, with musical performances and festive-themed food vendors in the evenings from Friday, 15 to Wednesday, 20 December. The market will have extended trading hours, opening from 10am to 8pm from Saturday, 16 December through to Sunday, 7 January 2018. Exceptions on, 24 December and 31 December when it close sat 6pm. The Watershed isn’t open on xmas Day.

Shoppers can have their gifts wrapped for between R5 and R20 – proceeds to the Homestead Projects for Street Children.
