Janie Bay’s ‘Dance’ is a slice of breezy acoustic pop

Singer-songwriter Janie Bay’s first single, titled Dance, is out. Janie has also just penned a global deal with Warner Music South Africa. Her as yet untitled Warner debut album is slated for release later this year.

Janie started her career with the indie release I Remember securing a No. 1 hit on mainstream South African radio, plus student radio stations. This early radio success was followed by many tours, stretching from intimate venues to Oppikoppi, White Mountain Festival, Up The Creek, KKNK and Park Acoustics

She has performed and recorded with the likes of Jack Parow, Matthew Mole, Die Heuwels Fantasies, aKing, Francois Van Coke, Desmond & The Tutus and Valiant Swart.

Dance is a slice of breezy acoustic pop perfect for long summer days. Her journey of musical discovery sees her finding her voice in the folk-pop scene. Says Janie Bay of her Warner Music signing: “I am super happy and honoured so have an engine like Warner Music South Africa to help steer and navigate my music to the masses!”

Tracy Fraser, MD of WM South Africa adds, “We’ve been watching Janie grow and develop as an artist for some time and are thrilled that she has now joined our roster. She is a talented and beguiling artist, with great musical instincts.”

Originally from the Cape’s Helderberg region, Janie now lives in Pretoria.
