No longer at some venues, and due to increasing demand The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa in Cape Town, has launched a Vegan Tasting Menu which is already proving a hit with patrons.
Healthy seasonal ingredients
Executive Chef, Christo Pretorius says, “Our new vegan tasting menu is made with the freshest, healthiest seasonal ingredients. Things like beetroot, butternut, beans and tofu never tasted or looked this good and is exactly what our vegan diners are looking for.”
The innovative new menu, created by award-winning Chef Pretorius and his kitchen brigade, is sure to get the taste buds of even the meat-eaters twitching, with dishes such as salt-baked beetroot, forest mushroom consommé, caramelized pineapple and roast butternut tofu, taking centre-stage.
“Vegans no longer have to worry about whether they’ll get a square meal when dining out. Our Vegan Tasting Menu is designed to satisfy the needs of our vegan diners but also to give non-vegans an introduction to vegan food,” he adds.

Keep the chill out your bones with our hearty Curry Evenings – every evening from 6pm to 10pm in The Café Grill from June to August. The menu includes a traditional plated starter, family-style main course (three different curries, rice and roti) and a delectable dessert. R360pp.
